Parish Policies and Procedures
Following is a partial list of parish policies and procedures; parish ministry leads, as part of new member ministry orientation, should provide an overview of parish's best practices, which may include ministry job description and ministry guidelines. Additionally, parish staff and volunteers are expected to follow Diocesan Policies and Procedures. If you have questions about best practices, contact the pertinent parish staff department head.
- Alcohol: There is a parish/diocesan/insurer policy regarding alcohol - per Arizona law that must be followed to avoid event shutdown, fines and/or prosecution.
- Event Hold Harmless Form and/or Fundraiser Form required for any offsite event and/or special event, fundraiser or parish ministry outreach service project - to ensure liability issues are addressed. Parish ministry volunteers can only provide services of ministry (i.e. Ministers of Care (MOC) can only bring Eucharist to person; they can not pick-up Rx, groceries, be caretaker or even change a light bulb - the MOC is not allowed to do any out-of-ministry tasks. If MOC wants to assist, then they must be go through the DUET Partners in Health & Aging Volunteer Training - see Caring Place.)
- Raffles: There is a parish policy regarding raffles - per Arizona law - it must be followed to avoid liability.
- Vendors:
- All vendors must provide a liability insurance certificate - it must be exactly worded and boxes check as per sample.
