Kino Open House (morning): Kino Catechetical Institute provides courses of study in catechetical formation intended to deepen each student’s knowledge of the faith, and love for Jesus. Cultural Diversity Mass: Celebrate the cultural diversity of the Diocese of Phoenix from 4 – 8 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle, 2312 E Campbell Ave, Phoenix. May 27-28

Catholic Communication Campaign: During Masses on May 27 and May 28, the Diocese of Phoenix will take up a collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). This collection helps bring the Gospel message to the public square through the internet, television, radio and print media so that all can know the love of God. Half of the funds collected remain here in the Diocese of Phoenix to support the televised broadcast of the Catholic Mass, which provides a vital connection to the Church for those who are sick and homebound. The other half will fund national communications efforts as well as international projects in developing countries. Info: dphx.org/ccc.

Theology of the Body Summer Bootcamp: Dive deep into St. JP2’s theology of the body at a special two-day TOB Bootcamp with Katrina J. Zeno, MTS. We’ll pump some serious intellectual iron as we dig into the text of Theology of the Body and discuss its application to catechesis and human sexuality for all ages and states in life. TOB Bootcamp starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on June 5 and 6. Lunch will be provided each day. This workshop is ideal for Catholic school teachers, principals, clergy, catechists, and parents who want to understand more. Twelve catechist recertification hours are available. “Looking Beneath the Surface” Recognizing and Responding to Human Trafficking for Healthcare Providers: from 5 -9 p.m. at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 400 E. Monroe St., Phoenix. Would I recognize the physical and mental indicators of trafficking?  87.5 % of trafficking victims had contact with a health care provider while they were being trafficked. All health care providers, instructors, students, and volunteers are invited to join us for an evening of prayer and awareness on human trafficking. TRUST AZ will present key indicators to identify potential victims, important screening questions, and instructions on what to do if you have identified a victim. Emmaus Ministries’ Retreat for Grieving Parents: at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr., Scottsdale. Organized by grieving parents who have lost children of their own and supported by spiritual leaders who understand this ministry, we provide an opportunity for parents to gather in a sacred, warm, and compassionate space with others who know their pain. This is a weekend for healing broken hearts and providing hope to bereaved parents. All faiths are welcome.
