SHAP meets as a way to support and pray for each other while we bear this cross. We meet every 2nd Monday of the month at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 400 E. Monroe St., Phoenix from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. to share ideas for growing in our faith while journeying this particular road as well as discuss healthy approaches to assist achieving pregnancy that uphold the dignity of the marital embrace and the child to be. This Mass is held each year on the Sunday closest to St. Odilia’s July 18 Feast Day. It is an opportunity for pilgrims to celebrate the healing petitions and ministry of her powerful intercession. The sacrament of the anointing of the sick is celebrated, and at the end of Mass, personal blessings with the ancient relics of St. Odilia are offered. The Crosiers will host the Mass at their Priory Church of the Holy Cross, 717 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix at 8 a.m. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome! Arizona Rosary Celebration: Come celebrate the 42nd annual Arizona Rosary Celebration on Sunday, October 22, 2017. This year we honor Mary under her title, Our Lady of Fatima, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of her apparition in Fatima, Portugal.. Pastoral vs. Clinical Models of Healing Workshop with Dr. Theresa Burke: Hosted by Restore Dignity Healing Ministry at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 400 E Monroe St., Phoenix, this professional training workshop will help you to identify physical and behavioral symptoms of trauma and abuse, understand the science behind those manifestations, and will give you tools to respond compassionately and effectively to people you may encounter in ministry or daily life. It is open to all and anyone interested is highly encouraged to attend. The workshop is especially practical for those working in parishes, schools and ministries including priests, deacons, seminarians, lay ministers, retreat teams, teachers, catechists and counselors. Grief to Grace Healing Retreat: Hosted by Restore Dignity, the Grief to Grace retreat invites participants to journey through this program in the name of love – love for themselves, love for family and friends, love for those who have suffered unspeakable abuse and mistreatment, and love for the Church – the suffering body of Christ, who cries out for comfort and consolation in the midst of profound betrayal and abandonment. The program offers a very unique process for helping victims of abuse to grieve the past and discover spiritual healing and transformation. Dr. Theresa Burke, who is the founder of Rachel’s Vineyard retreats for healing after abortion, composed the program and will serve as the facilitator for this retreat. Grief to Grace – Healing the Wounds of Abuse – is a spiritual program for anyone who has suffered degradation or violation through physical, emotional, sexual, or spiritual abuse. It is appropriate for anyone who has endured sexual abuse, rape, incest, or other forms of traumatic violation in childhood or adolescence. Citizenship Preparation Classes: The Crosier Community of Phoenix is hosting its next series of citizenship classes on Saturdays, 10 a.m.-Noon., July 15, 22 and 29, 2017. Classes are FREE but a single $10 donation for materials is appreciated. All classes will be taught in English and are held at Crosier Village, 717 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix. This course helps students learn the basics for becoming a U.S. citizen by studying for the citizenship test and preparing for the interview. This class also helps students develop their English skills. The class is taught by Br. Jim Lewandowski, osc, who has conducted English and citizenship classes for over 20 years. 10th Annual Night of Hope: at Xavier College Preparatory, 4710 N 5th St., Phoenix, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Celebrate the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Phoenix as we showcase our common faith foundation and each school’s unique identity! Emmaus Ministries’ Retreat for Grieving Parents: at the Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Dr., Scottsdale. Sancti Spiritus: A Lenten Pilgrimage to Cuba with Bishop Nevares: Join Bishop Eduardo A. Nevares, Fr. Mark Bozoda, and Dr. Timothy Mullner on the Diocese of Phoenix’s first ever pilgrimage to Cuba! Doors are opening in Cuba, and so are hearts, hungry for connection to Christ and the Church! This pilgrimage is named after the “Sacred Spirit” (Sancti Spiritus) region of Cuba, home to the oldest church currently standing on the island.
