Stewardship of Treasure
We are Family with a Giving Lifestyle!
In thanksgiving for the gifts God has given us, we are called to return a portion of our resources to support His work. This is an offering of "first fruits," a contribution by which we express God's priority in our lives.
A Parishioners's Story: " I took the plunge. I began giving a fixed 5% of my income up front and off the top to Blessed Sacrament and set aside the same percentage for other charitable donations - the biblical tithe. And what was the result? The blessings have been - both practical and spiritual. I simply took better care of the 90% that was for my use. But the greatest blessing has been a change of heart. I have commited to using my envelopes regularly and return and tithe a percentage of my treasure to the Lord for all the kindness He has given me."
Giving Opportunities at our Parish
As a “stewardship as a way of life” faith community, we firmly believe that everything we have belongs to God. Through the Scriptures God invites us to return 10% in tithes to support the mission of the Lord (typically 5-6% to parish and 4-5% to outreach here at the parish and/or greater community).
- Weekly Envelopes are mailed to registered parishioners. If you are not receiving them, call the parish office - 480-948-8370.
- E-Giving: One can setup automatic E-giving using their personal checking/savings accounts. When online with your bank, use the bill pay feature. Add Blessed Sacrament Church as a Payee, entering the information requested on the screen (i.e. address of payee 11300 N. 64th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85254), account number - this would be your envelope number). The screen will prompt you to enter the amount of the payment and the frequency of the payment. Make this payment recurring, either weekly, monthly, or whatever works for you. The bank will then mail checks to Blessed Sacrament based on the information you provided. The checks will be processed and recorded like any other placed in the basket. You can still place an 'empty' envelope in the basket - we will understand what you are doing.
- If you are interested in E-giving using a credit card - please contact the parish office. If/when we get enough requests, the parish may initiate a credit-card E-giving service. Note: the providers of this service will typically charge the parish transaction fees and charge 2-5% interchange fee depending on type credit card used. - i.e. an $100 credit card donation may result in the parish parish paying up to $4-5 in fees - resulting in only $95-96 being available for parish use.

Over the years our Parish School has established a Scholarship Fund to benefit students in financial need. More info coming…
The Charity and Development Appeal (CDA) is the one Diocesan appeal that asks every Catholic family to financially and prayerfully support the more than 70 charitable, educational, and spiritual organizations which counsel, feed, clothe, house, educate, and comfort those in need throughout the four Arizona counties (Mohave, Maricopa, Coconino and Yavapai) within our Diocese. We are a family and the CDA serves the needs of our people beyond the boundaries of any one parish. As a result, more people are served across the community as well as within the parishes. This campaign typically runs annually January through March.
Over and above tithing, the Bible prescribes that believers give offerings to different causes, including parish building/remodeling campaigns. At this time, there is no Parish Capital Campaign in progress.
Throughout the year our parish participates in various charity appeals, emergency pleas (i.e. Katrina), fundraisers, alms giving, fundraisers and summer outreach projects. Notice will be provided with weekly envelopes, bulletin and/or pulput annoucements
Thank you for your Gifts of Treasure
