Habitat for Humanity

Overview:
North Valley Catholic faith communites have partnered with Habitat for Humanity (H4H) Central Arizona. HFHCAZ is bringing together individuals and groups from Catholic faith communities, corporations, educational institutions, and the community to work to help us eliminate sub-standard housing. This project was initiated by Scottsdale's St. Patrick Catholic Church and has been fully funded - all that is needed is volunteers to build the house.
This project will give volunteers an opportunity to not only make a difference with a day’s work, but also make a connection with a family moving towards stability and home-ownership. H4H homes are made possible through the labor of our dedicated volunteers working side by side with our homeowner families.
Project:
- Oro Vista: lot 8331 at 1241 E. Carson Road, Phoenix, AZ for the Ibrahim/Shure Family - see Build Schedule to review tasks assigned during the 15 week project - which starts 10/9/2010 and targetted to complete 02/05/2011.
- Blessed Sacrament's assigned work weeks:
- If you are interested in volunteering - contact Dr. Honora Norton, Parish Manager - eMail or call 480-948-8370 X223 - there will be future opportunities to work in 2011 at H4H homes.

Requirements:
- Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:30am and will tentatively finish around 2:00pm. Volunteers are asked to stay the entire shift. While we would love to involve more volunteers, breaking the day into two shifts is difficult. The parish will keep a list of alternate volunteers.
- Minimum age to volunteer is age 16.
- Each volunteer must complete, H4H Volunteer Information & Waiver Form and Parish Volunteer Waiver and Release Form - return these forms to the parish office by 11/22/2010- attention: Dr. Honora Norton, Parish Manager.
